HVAC Preventive Maintenance on Heating Systems and Heat Pumps

Serving the Virginia Peninsula, Including Newport News, Gloucester & Williamsburg, VA

SAVE MONEY AND ENJOY PEACE OF MIND.

Your HVAC system is most likely the single biggest use of energy in your home. But with regular, proper maintenance on your air conditioning and heating system, you can reduce your energy costs significantly.

Out of Sight, But NOT Out of Mind!
Just because your HVAC system is out of sight, does not mean it can be neglected. Having your system checked twice annually is just as important as changing the oil in your car every 3,000 miles.

Why do we recommend Preventive Maintenance?  Your HVAC system has a life expectancy, which will be shortened or lengthened by how well it is maintained. A neglected system will decrease efficiency of your system, resulting in higher utility bills, personal discomfort in your home, loss of productivity, higher repair costs and, eventually, premature replacement.Regular, routine maintenance assures that your system will meet the demands of a very hot summer or a very cold winter.

PREPARE FOR THE SUMMER

SEASON IN THE SPRING

  •  Inspect thermostat operation, indoor air supply, air handler unit, motor amp draw, wire connections and controls, indoor coil, drain pan, condensate drain, emergency power disconnect, outdoor unit, condenser coil, fan and motor assembly, compressor contractor.
  • Clean components as needed.
  • Clean and lubricate motors as needed.
  • Inspect refrigerant pressures and adjust. (A 10% refrigerant loss will result in a 20% decrease in system efficiency!)
  •  Replace dirty air filters.

PREPARE FOR THE WINTER

SEASON IN THE FALL

  •  Inspect thermostat operation, indoor air supply, air handler unit.
  • Inspect combustion blower, natural draft pipe, heat pump, combustion drain, control connections, heat exchanger, burner assembly, flame operation, flame sensor and pilot, gas pressures.
